New forms of entertainment were born in the 1920s. People enjoyed silent movies accompanied with live music. Very soon, the fad of “talkies,” or movies with sound, took over. In other words, these types of movies simply astonished people. Moreover, cartoon films and animated movies began to appear and made entertainment even more thrilling.
The Growth of Nightclubs and Dance Halls
Following the war, there was an overwhelming desire to get out and dance the night away and enjoy company. Nightclubs and dance halls became one of the hot spots to be. In a nutshell, these provided music to dance to and have a good time. It is safe to say that jazz music was very much a part of this. In addition, folks wanted to put behind them hard times and enjoy themselves with companions.
